RFID cards (also known as RFID transponder cards or RFID smart cards) are laminated plastic cards made of PVC that contain a radio frequency (RFID) antenna, which is invisible to users.
Unlike chip cards or magnetic stripe cards, these cards do not require direct physical or visual contact with the RFID reader, which reads the data from distance. The reading range depends on the respective frequency (LF, HF or UHF).
RFID cards provide high data security and the possibility to control multiple applications, such as access control, time tracking, cashless payment, printer control, charging at charging stations, etc. only with a single card.

RFID cards can be configured, personalized and purchased in our online shop, and can be deployed in various applications such as membership cards, library cards, company cards, visitor cards, access cards, key cards, lift cards and charging cards for e-mobility.

RFID chip cards can be easily equipped with different RFID chips, individual designs and application-specific features.

All options at a glance:

  • Printed in the individual corporate design of your company or institutions (high-quality CMYK offset printing, also with special colors/finishings on request)
  • Writing fields, photo, name personalization
  • Card perforations for attachment to a lanyard / keychain
  • Professional encoding: UIDs, personnel number, access rights, credits, etc.
  • Hybrid solutions also possible: additional integration of QR/barcodes, magnetic stripes (LoCo, HiCo. Super HicCo) or dual chip cards (2 RFID chips with different frequency ranges, e.g. UHF for access to parking garage, HF for access to building, etc.)

Encoding smartcards

The individual data will be stored on the cards. The authorizations are thus linked to the cardholder and can be correctly recognized. With chip encoding, specially developed applications or just the UID number can be stored on the RFID card. We will be happy to prepare the data records for you as you wish through our encoding service.

MIFARE Classic (EV 1 | 1k/4k) 13.56 MHz

Classic applications: multifunctional employee/visitor/member/student badges (access control, time recording, cashless payment, e.g. in bistros/at snack machines)

MIFARE DESFire (EV2 | 2k/4k/8k) 13.56 MHz

Even more secure than MIFARE Classic EV1 thanks to authentication and CC EAL5+ certification, that allows for up to 28 applications on one card.

Especially often used for applications with payment function, e.g. public transport, parking management, season tickets/ticketing.

LEGIC prime/ advant (13.56 MHz)  

Various memory sizes, versatile due to freely programmable/ variable segment sizes, large LEGIC partner network.

Hybrid cards or so-called dual-chip cards are RFID chip cards that are equipped with two different RFID chips and combine two chip technologies in one. Thus, two RFID chip technologies with different frequency ranges can be used, e.g. UHF (up to 10 meters) for access to the parking garage and HF (up to 10cm) for access to the building.

If required, additional integration of QR/barcodes as well as magnetic stripes is also possible. More applications of the cards are possible: to do everything with one medium, i.e. an all-in-one solution.

RFID chip cards differ from contact-based cards in that the card can be read or written without physical contact with the reader. This leads to less wear & tear and therefore has a a longer lifespan. In addition, the chip is “invisible.” since it is shrink-wrapped during lamination in the production process.

NFC steht für Near-Field-Communication und verwendet auch auf RFID-Protokollen.

Der größte Unterschied zwischen den Technologien besteht darin, dass ein NFC Gerät nicht nur als Lesegerät, sondern auch als Tag bzw. Karte agieren kann (Card Emulation Mode). Im Peer to Peer Mode ist zusätzlich die Übertragung von Informationen zwischen zwei NFC Karten möglich.

NFC arbeitet auf der gleichen Frequenz wie HF-RFID-Systeme 13,56 MHz.

Die RFID Chipkarte funktioniert wie jeder andere RFID-Transponder. Ein RFID-Transponder besteht aus einer Antenne und einen Chip auf dem alle Daten gespeichert sind. Wenn die RFID-Karte an ein Lesegerät gehalten wird, versorgt das elektrische Feld die Karte mit Energie mittels Induktion. So wird es möglich für die RFID-Karte mittels der Antenne die Daten zu übertragen.
